Wild Earth Location
Happy day!
The Wild Earth 2007 Rendezvous will be held at Hadikin Lake, near the Upper Walbran Valley on southern Vancouver Island. Two dozen workshops are scheduled, including several presentations by First Nations activists.
The camp is on a small lake with a fringe of old growth forest on Ditidaht territory, with good drinking water and a dock for swimming. Hadikin Lake is two hours drive down logging roads from Lake Cowichan. This informal campsite on Crown land is free and has no electricity, plumbing, or other amenities. (The Wild Earthlings will provide meals, snacks, water, wash stations, and latrines.)
A photo of Hadikin Lake and a Google map image are posted on the Wild Earth blog: http://wildearth2007.blogspot.com
Ride shares and shuttle vans are being arranged to bring folks to the camp. A driving map and directions will be posted shortly. Folks who either want to request a ride or provide one for a fellow traveler can send an email to ZoeBlunt (at) gmail (dot) com. (Let us know where you're coming from and what day)
Presenters: please let us know what day and time you'd like to hold your sessions so we can put together the schedule. ZoeBlunt (at) gmail (dot) com
Volunteers: please contact Cristina to confirm you're coming and which days you'd like to help out. itspossible (at) wildmail (dot) com
We would like to thank the Ditidaht First Nation for giving permission for us to camp on their land.
Thanks to everyone for all your support!
Zoe
